Brookland's Soup Kitchen Ministry
Initially, the ministry served approximately 25 persons each week. The soup kitchen has grown through the years and we now serve approximately 160 persons on Saturday during the months of December through April.
The soup kitchen is funded by sponsors who are willing to donate $160 per Saturday.
Sponsors are being sought to provide hot and nutritious meals each week. Checks should be made payable to the Brookland Baptist Soup Kitchen Ministry. If you are interested in sponsoring a day, please contact our coordinator, Donald Wood, at dwood@capconsc.com or (803) 414-8295. Click here to download form.
The Ministry is based on the biblical principal from Matthew 25:34-35 which reads, “Then the king will say to those on his right hand Come, you blessed of my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world, for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in.”
Meals are prepared each Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the former site on Monticello Street. All volunteers are asked to donate a minimum of one Saturday each month.
If you would like to volunteer, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Donald Wood at (803) 414-8295 or dwood@capconsc.com.
